Scripps Ranch Resident Receives Award
Francis Parker School senior and Scripps Ranch resident Olivia Field received the 2010-2011 American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) Outstanding Senior in French Award. This award is made annual to a graduating senior who has demonstrated excellence in the study of French as well as exceptional commitment to the French language and the many cultures where it is spoken.
Field is one of only 15 students from the State of California to garner this accolade. Recipients must have completed at least three years of French study at the time of graduation and be non-native speakers of French.
An officer of the National French Honor Society and the current president of the Francis Parker School chapter, Field competed in the National French Contest for four consecutive years, winning silver and bronze medals along the way. She has also participated in National F and studied all four years at Parker under Irina Dorfman.
Founded in 1912, Francis Parker School has more than 1,200 students at 6401 Linda Vista Road in San Diego.
