PowPAC, Poway’s community theater, presents Mothers and Sons this winter. The play, written by four-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally, tells the story of a woman who pays an unexpected visit to the apartment of her late son’s partner. Revisiting her past and daring to face how society has changed around her, the story explores the evolving definition of family and the healing power of forgiveness. The show runs through Sunday, Feb. 26.

PowPAC will also present Over the Tavern, opening this spring. Over the Tavern tells the story of a young boy who begins to question his family’s strict Catholic values. The show will open on Friday, March 24 and run through Sunday, Apr. 23. Performances for both plays are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22 for general admission and $20 for students, seniors, and active duty military.
