Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council Donation
The Glen at Scripps Ranch presented a $20,000 donation to the Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council (SRFSC) in recognition of the 15th anniversary of the Cedar Fire and to remind the community of the importance of fire safety and preparedness. The donation will help provide 10 special fire equipment boxes to be placed strategically around the Scripps Ranch fire district for first responders in the event of a wildfire. Equipment includes emergency vests, traffic cones and signs, and flares.
Originally established as the Chimney Canyon Fire Safe Council in 2003, the SRFSC continues to bring together public and private organizations to discuss and take action towards fire safety in the community. There are now over 10 neighborhood chapters of the group, working to establish firebreaks, clear trails, remove dangerous trees, and plant new trees. For more information go to www.srfiresafe.org.
