Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council’s (SRFSC) 12th Annual “Play to Protect” Golf Tournament was held at The Vineyard at Escondido, drawing 24 players to enjoy a day of golf, lunch, an opportunity drawing, and a live auction hosted by Sunny 98.1 radio host and Scripps Ranch resident Dave Mason. San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Fire Chief Colin Stowell, Deputy Fire Chief John Wood, Captain Tim Robles, and Lieutenant John Sandmeyer were in attendance as well.

The tournament raised $2,100, which will go towards buying equipment to be placed in storage boxes in 10 locations along the fire evacuation route in Scripps Ranch. First responders will have access to the boxes in the event of an emergency, which include traffic cones, flares, barricades, traffic signs, and vests. For more information visit www.srfiresafe.org.
